Health and elderly care

Putting patients and the elderly first

The Swedish health service and care sector suffer from too much red tape and a serious lack of resources. This has resulted in long waiting-times for treatment and doctor’s appointments. Folkpartiet is campaigning against the devastating healthcare socialism, in favour of free choice of family doctors/GP’s and a maximum waiting-time guarantee to ensure quick treatment. The guarantee would oblige county council to pay for operations anywhere in Europe if treatment cannot be offered within one month.

Anyone, regardless of income, age or residence, has the right to quality care. This is why we must spend more on health services and elderly care in order to employ more doctors and nurses. Tax-funded private care is needed as an important alternative to public services, and will contribute to higher quality and increased efficiency.

All elderly people should be covered by a care guarantee, safeguarding their right to necessary assistance. Those who are not given a place in a nursing home will receive an allowance to purchase the services they require.
