Oneseat campaign has 50,000 signatures

The www.oneseat.eu campaign, a cross party, Europe-wide initiative aimed at halting the European Parliament's monthly excursions to Strasbourg and to make the commission discuss the issue of another use of the Strasbourg buildings ; has attracted 50,000 signatures just one week after being launched

Commenting on the great success of the campaign so far, Cecilia Malmstrom MEP (ALDE) and co-founder of the initiative, said:

"After one week of campaigning we have reached 50 000 signatures. It proves that the issue of one seat for European Parliament in Brussels engages a lot of people, all over our continent.

"The signatures have been coming from all countries in the union and I have received a lot of emails from people who support the European idea and want the union to work effectively. I want to put an end to the travelling circus to Strasbourg and a stop wasting taxpayers' money."
