The Beatles society founded in the Swedish parliament
Pressrelease from the Liberal Party in the Swedish parliament 16th of October 2009
We are happy to inform that the Swedish Parliamentary Beatles Society now has been founded. This initiative was taken by the two members of the Swedish Liberal Party in the Parliament: Mrs Eva Flyborg and Mr Hans Backman. They are truly dedicated fans of the Beatles since early age and are both members of the standing committee of Labour Market.
- We would like to acknowledge and honour their music as well as their other efforts for peace, freedom and love in the world. For instance we would like to point out Sir Paul McCartney’s involvement in the global climate discussions and his engagement in the peace movement "One voice" for peace in the Middle East. We would also like to acknowledge Ringo Starr for his engagement for better future for the people of Bangladesh, say Eva Flyborg and Hans Backman.
- We were both very young when Beatlemania was at its highest level but old enough to have our own dear memories of The Beatles as a fantastic group. Our first music memories are forever connected with The Beatles music on radio and on records. Forty years after their last performance they still hold millions of true music lovers’ hearts in their hands.
